During Anime Expo 2025, SEGA unveiled a new teaser trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, confirming an animation release scheduled for September 2025.

On July 4, 2025, Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise released an animation teaser for the game, indicating an upcoming animation project.

In the meantime, Sonic X Shadow Generations is currently available and has received a positive review score of 4.5/5 from Final Weapon, highlighting its thrilling gameplay.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is set to launch on September 25, 2025, across multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

This new title follows the previous release of Team Sonic Racing in May 2021, which featured both online multiplayer and single-player modes.

The game will include characters from various Sega franchises, such as Hatsune Miku, Ichiban from Like a Dragon, and Joker from Persona 5, as well as elements from the Minecraft franchise.

Additionally, a collaboration with Nickelodeon will introduce characters from popular franchises like SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Players who pre-order the game will receive Sonic the Werehog from Sonic Unleashed as a bonus, while Steve, Alex, and the Creeper from Minecraft will be part of the Season Pass.

The game will offer both free and paid DLC options, including a Season Pass that expands the character roster.

The first three downloadable content characters, available for free, will be Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5, and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon.
