A new policy in Flemish Brabant lowers the immediate license suspension threshold for drunk driving from 0.5 g/L to 0.35 g/L BAC, effective tomorrow.

The change aims to improve road safety across the province and will be in effect year-round, not limited to awareness campaigns.

Drivers with no prior criminal record and a BAC below 0.5 g/L will have two options in different municipalities: in Leuven, a voluntary alcohol-awareness course; and in Halle-Vilvoorde, an amicable settlement.
