Belgium Secures 20-Year Deal for Advanced PC-7 MKX Training Systems with Pilatus
November 28, 2025
The contract, approved on November 27, 2025, covers 18 PC-7 MKX trainer aircraft and a fully integrated training infrastructure.
Belgium has awarded Pilatus a 20-year service contract to provide the PC-7 MKX Training System for the Belgian Air Force.
The PC-7 MKX features Garmin G3000 PRIME avionics, marking the first integration of G3000 with custom military training displays.
France’s PC-7 MKX deployment and a related Mentor 2 programme collaboration between Exail and Babcock are noted as context for ongoing European adoption.
Deliveries are expected to begin in 2027, with training planned to start in 2028 after facility upgrades, simulators, and instructor training are completed.
Pilatus will supply advanced simulators, computer-based learning platforms, and mission planning and debriefing systems as part of the package.
Pilatus CEO Markus Bucher expresses pride in Belgium becoming a customer and highlights global support for air forces with state-of-the-art training solutions.
The PC-7 MKX is noted as the only trainer in its class with Martin-Baker ejection seats and a Pratt & Whitney Canada engine.
Belgium becomes the third European nation to select the PC-7 MKX, following the Netherlands and France (France selected PC-7 MKX earlier in 2025).
