Bpost set a new daily record by delivering 829,000 parcels to homes or collection points on Tuesday.

The surge is tied to the Black Friday–Cyber Monday window, Saint Nicholas, and the upcoming Christmas season, with expectations of another record attempt in the near term.

To cover costs and streamline distribution during peak season, Bpost imposes an additional €1 per parcel from Black Friday through Christmas each year.

To manage higher volumes, Bpost redeployed 700 administrative staff as volunteers and hired 1,500 temporary workers, including drivers and sorters, along with 1,000 extra delivery vans.

The prior daily record was 813,000 parcels, set during the same period last year, underscoring a persistent rise in demand.
