Banned Russian Counter-Strike Player's Cooperation Leads to Reduced Sentence, Prompts Lifetime Ban for Others
October 11, 2025
Russian Counter-Strike player Erkhan "gokushima" Bagynanov, who was previously banned for match-fixing, had his ban reduced after cooperating with ESIC authorities.
His initial ban, set from March 27, 2024, to March 26, 2026, was shortened to 18 months and 13 days, ending on October 10, 2025, due to his assistance.
The ongoing match-fixing investigation continues, with gokushima's cooperation playing a key role in further enforcement actions.
As a result of his cooperation, ESIC issued bans to other players, including a lifetime ban for Egor "zLy" Polyakov and five-year bans for Aleksandr "Ruler" Maximov, Dmitriy "propleh" Senigov, and Petr "timeagento" Markheev.
Gokushima, aged 25, gained recognition after signing with the esports team FORZE in October 2023, but his reputation was affected when he was benched and his ban was revealed in April 2024.
He played for FORZE until his ban was announced in March 2024, which initially cast a shadow over his rising career.
Although his ban was reduced, his future remains uncertain as he is still under contract with FORZE, a team no longer competing in Counter-Strike 2.
His cooperation included providing information that supported enforcement actions against other players involved in match-fixing.
