Slate Auto & Crayola Launch Vibrant Wrap Kits for Electric Pickup Customization
July 9, 2026
Slate Auto partners with Crayola to offer five limited-edition wrap kits for its affordable electric pickup, expanding customization options without altering the base design.
The Crayola wraps come in Cerulean, Fern, Jersey Tomato, Razzmatazz, and Dandelion and are sold as starter packs that include decals, a color-coordinated key-fob cap, and a Slatelet dashboard accessory through Slate’s online marketplace.
These Crayola packs are part of a broader strategy to scale wraps, with standard kits offering over 100 color options starting around $500, plus professional installation; Crayola starter packs cost $1,550 for certain colors, a premium over the base wrap.
Deliveries are slated to begin later this year, with the majority of orders expected to arrive through 2027.
The truck uses an LFP battery that lowers cost versus NiMH or NMC chemistries and supports DC fast charging at up to 120 kW, enabling 20-80% charging in about 30 minutes.
Slate has not yet delivered its first vehicles since emerging from stealth in April 2025; pre-orders began after revealing the base price, with potential to expand into a $29,950 five-seat SUV from the same platform.
Slate’s vehicle is a rear-wheel-drive, single-motor EV with a 65-kWh LFP battery, about 205 miles of range, 2,000-pound tow rating, 1,550-pound payload, 0-60 mph in 8 seconds, and a top speed of 90 mph.
Preorders require a $300 deposit (or $250 for existing $50 reservation holders), with Crayola packs available later; deliveries are expected to begin in Q4 2026 and continue through 2027.
Slate’s truck is designed to be wrapped rather than painted to cut costs, starting at $24,950 for a basic gray, unpainted version that omits a touchscreen and manual windows.
The base truck starts at $24,950 with about 205 miles of range and 2,000-pound towing, emphasizing customization through wraps, decals, lighting, and other accessories.
Slate emphasizes customization and affordability over performance, aiming to stand out in parking lots rather than boost speed or range.
Future wrap designs could expand as Slate pursues additional partnerships and creative collaborations.
