The DENZA Z is an all-electric hypercar unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, packing a triple-motor setup that delivers 1,582 horsepower and uses BYD’s 76-kWh Blade Battery with 1,500 kW FLASH Charging for rapid 10% to 97% charging in about nine minutes.

BYD’s steer-by-wire e3 platform and advanced suspension underpin the DENZA Z, paired with a digital cockpit featuring an 8.8-inch display.

Flash charging is claimed to deliver 10% to 97% in nine minutes using BYD’s 1.5 MW infrastructure, though charging performance depends on temperature and widespread Megawatt charging is not yet common in Europe.

Inside, the cabin emphasizes motorsport-inspired styling with twin high-end displays, Google Built-in, Devialet audio, wireless charging, and Track Mode for telemetry‑driven driving.

At Goodwood, the lineup includes Z Coupé and Z Racing as world premieres, with a Nürburgring edition planned for autumn to pursue records; the cars measure about 4,780 mm in length, making them the smallest Denza models in Europe.

Available in Coupe, Spider, and Racing variants, the DENZA Z features three electric motors (one on the front axle, two on the rear) and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in roughly 1.96 to 2.30 seconds depending on variant and tire choice.

Denza positions the Z as BYD’s performance model, with a peak output of 1,180 kW and a 0-100 km/h time of 1.96 seconds, eyeing competition with European and US performance brands.

Orders for the Coupe, Spider, and Racing are slated to open in the summer with deliveries by year-end, while a Nürburgring-focused Special Edition is in development for record attempts.

Standard premium features include heated seats, soft-closing doors, a digital rear-view mirror, V2L, a DENZA app, and extensive driver-assistance systems, with extensive customization options for colors and trims.

Chassis tech includes DiSus-M magnetorheological adaptive suspension, triple-motor torque vectoring, Vehicle Motion Control, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a 15-in-1 integrated drive unit to optimize handling for both road and track.

The DENZA Z uses BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and a Cell-to-Body design, offering about 254 miles for the Coupe and 248–236 miles for the other variants, with emphasis on weight reduction and cabin space.
