Saif applauds Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar franchise for redefining cinema and storytelling, suggesting an era before and after Dhurandhar has begun.

Shararat stood out for Saif as a narrative integration, with Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza at Hamza’s wedding, avoiding the sense of an ordinary item-number.

Saif highlights Shararat as particularly impactful, depicting wedding performers as integral to the scene rather than peripheral performers.

He notes a shift toward diverse global influences in film music, including English-language elements, emphasizing the goal of creating amazing music for each film rather than a separate album.

The films feature Ranveer Singh with a strong supporting cast including Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun, all directed by Aditya Dhar.

He praises composer Shashwat Sachdev’s globally-inspired music, calling the song Shararat revolutionary for moving beyond traditional item-number trends.

Dhurandhar has become a major commercial success, with the first film released in December 2025 and the sequel in March 2026, while Kartavya has drawn positive reviews.

The Dhurandhar franchise has grossed over Rs 3,100 crore collectively, with the sequel becoming the second-highest-grossing Indian film ever.

Saif notes that Dhurandhar’s songs are designed to blend naturally into the narrative, enhancing immersion rather than serving solely as promotional material, and he credits Aditya Dhar’s approach with transforming how Indian cinema treats music.

Saif’s recent projects include the Netflix crime thriller Kartavya, with upcoming roles in Hum Hindustani and Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan, reuniting with Akshay Kumar after nearly two decades.
