UBS and Chainlink Revolutionize Finance with World's First On-Chain Tokenized Fund Workflow
November 6, 2025
This milestone fits into a broader push toward tokenized finance in the roughly $100 trillion global fund industry as UBS and Chainlink pursue additional integrations and standardization.
UBS’s efforts are part of a wider collaboration with Chainlink and Singapore’s Project Guardian, highlighting a sector-wide shift toward tokenized finance in traditional finance.
The project builds on a prior pilot where Chainlink linked bank systems to blockchains via Swift, enabling fund transactions through ISO 20022 messages without overhauling legacy systems.
The redemption was initiated by UBS’s internal systems and executed by Chainlink’s infrastructure, with DigiFT managing on-chain distribution and settlement.
UBS, via its Tokenize platform, showcased an end-to-end on-chain fund workflow that automates order-taking, execution, and settlement across digital and traditional systems to cut processing time and complexity.
The demonstration uses Chainlink DTA to synchronize UBS’s internal systems with the Ethereum blockchain while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Senior leadership from UBS and Chainlink underscored gains in efficiency, adherence to regulation, and the potential for traditional finance to securely operate on decentralized networks.
DigiFT, an on-chain exchange based in Singapore, acted as the on-chain distributor to connect UBS’s internal systems with the Ethereum blockchain, illustrating integration between decentralized exchanges and traditional finance.
UBS called the development a milestone for integrating blockchain infrastructure with fund operations and investor experience, citing better operational efficiency and product composability.
UBS achieved the world’s first live on-chain subscription and redemption of a tokenized USD Money Market Fund (uMINT) entirely on Ethereum using Chainlink’s DTA.
The uMINT token was redeemed on-chain, demonstrating smart contract–based fund operations and potential efficiency gains for the global fund industry.
In a separate on-chain redemption, UBS and Chainlink completed the first on-chain redemption of a tokenized fund, with DigiFT handling on-chain distribution and settlement on Ethereum.
Chainlink’s DTA ecosystem—including CCIP, ACE, and NAVLink for NAV calculations—supported secure, compliant execution of the tokenized fund transaction.
This milestone positions UBS as a leader in digital finance and tokenized assets, showing practical, in-production tokenized fund workflows and the viability of on-chain fund management.
