On June 16, 2025, J.P. Morgan Asset Management Canada launched the JPMorgan US Core Active ETF, designed to serve as a core holding in diversified portfolios with a focus on high-conviction stock selection.

Just a day later, on June 17, National Bank Investments introduced three new target date bond ETFs, each with specific termination dates in 2026, 2027, and 2028, aimed at providing current income and capital preservation through investment-grade debt securities.

Also on June 17, Global X Investments Canada launched four new leveraged ETFs, targeting three-times and minus three-times exposure to the Nasdaq-100 and S&P 500 indexes, while incorporating currency hedging to manage U.S. dollar exposure.

On June 25, Franklin Templeton Canada expanded its offerings with the launch of the Franklin Core Equity suite, which includes Canadian, U.S., and international equity strategies available as ETF series and series F.

Earlier, on June 12, BMO Asset Management debuted the BMO Human Capital Factor US Equity ETF, focusing on U.S. companies with strong corporate culture to drive long-term capital appreciation.

In a broader market context, the Securities and Investment Management Association reported that mutual fund assets rose to $2.294 trillion at the end of May 2025, marking a 3.4% increase from April, driven largely by inflows into bond funds.

ETF assets also saw a significant rise, reaching $573.9 billion, a 5.0% increase with net sales of $8.8 billion in May, indicating a recovery after previous declines.

Looking ahead, Global X announced the termination of five ETFs effective August 19, 2025, including the Global X Cybersecurity Index ETF and various BetaPro ETFs related to Canadian banks and REITs.
