September 2, 2025
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a leading Indian government defence company, has secured new defence orders worth Rs. 644 crore since late July 2025, covering a wide range of strategic electronics including data centres, ship fire control systems, and electronic voting machines.
These recent contracts significantly expand BEL's defence portfolio, with total order bookings rising from Rs. 74,859 crore as of July 1, 2025, to include an additional Rs. 2,600 crore, highlighted by a large order exceeding Rs. 500 crore.
The company's recent wins include a Rs. 1,640 crore contract from the Indian Army for Air Defence Fire Control Radars and other orders worth Rs. 563 crore, reinforcing its strong order pipeline.
BEL projects FY26 new orders to surpass Rs. 27,000 crore, excluding the QRSAM project, and aims for at least 15% revenue growth, targeting around 17.5%, with a steady growth rate of about 16% over the next three to four years.
Supported by these order inflows, BEL's stock price has increased to Rs. 377.35, reflecting a 0.92% rise from Rs. 373.90, and has delivered a 26.7% return over the past year, with over 46% surge in the last six months.
The company's robust order book and recent wins have positively impacted investor sentiment, making BEL a prominent defence PSU to watch in the stock market.
In Q1 FY26, BEL reported a standalone net profit of Rs. 969.13 crore, up nearly 25% YoY, with revenue rising by 5.19% to Rs. 4,416.83 crore, although quarterly figures show some decline from the previous quarter.
Despite quarterly fluctuations, BEL has demonstrated strong long-term growth, with a profit CAGR of 30%, sales CAGR of 16%, and ROE CAGR of 26% over the past three years.
The recent order wins, including a Rs. 1,640 crore contract from the Indian Army, underscore BEL’s role in strengthening India’s self-reliance in defence and electronics.
These developments reinforce BEL’s position as a key Navratna Defence PSU, supporting national defence goals and expanding its strategic electronics footprint.
