Mobikwik Shares Surge 24% After ADIA Exits, Despite Ongoing Financial Challenges

Since its IPO in December 2024 at Rs 442.25 on BSE and Rs 440 on NSE, Mobikwik's stock has fallen 39%, reflecting ongoing financial challenges.
Post-ADIA exit, major shareholders include Peak XV Partners with a 9.92% stake, followed by Cisco Systems (1.54%) and American Express Travel Related Services (1.34%), along with other foreign portfolio investors.
Following ADIA's exit, Mobikwik's stock surged 10.07% to Rs 261.15 on September 1, 2025, and has gained 24% over two days, recovering from a recent low of Rs 218.85 on August 29, 2025.
Despite the large stake sale, Mobikwik's shares closed at Rs 237.74 on the NSE, up 8.12%, with around 46.70 million shares traded today, valuing the company at approximately Rs 1,328 crore.
Year-to-date, Mobikwik's stock has declined by 55%, contrasting sharply with the Nifty50's 3.6% gain.
The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) completely divested from Mobikwik through a block deal on September 1, 2025, selling 16.44 lakh shares at an average price of Rs 238.45, totaling Rs 39.21 crore, which marked its exit from the company.
From its 52-week low of Rs 219.20 on August 19, 2025, Mobikwik's share price has increased nearly 25%, but it remains about 60% below its 52-week high of Rs 698.30 recorded on December 26, 2024.
Mobikwik is a digital payments platform serving over 180.2 million users and 4.64 million merchants, offering services like wallet, UPI, payment gateway, and financial products such as credit, fixed deposits, mutual funds, and digital gold.
In the June quarter, Mobikwik reported a net loss of Rs 41.92 crore, significantly higher than Rs 6.62 crore the previous year, with revenues declining 20.7% year-over-year to Rs 271.36 crore.
For Q1 FY26, the company's loss widened to Rs 41.9 crore from Rs 6.6 crore last year, with total expenses at Rs 312.8 crore and revenues decreasing by 20.72% to Rs 271.36 crore.
