The Roomba Electro Plus uses on-demand hypochlorous acid generated from tap water to disinfect surfaces, claiming 99.99% kill rate of bacteria, fungi, viruses, and germs, with a self-cleaning, self-drying mop system and a dock that washes and dries the mop.

Pricing and availability place Electro Plus at around $400 with immediate availability on iRobot’s site and select retailers, and the new lineup available for pre-sale now and rolling out later in the month.

The disinfecting solution is produced on-mop and considered safe for kids and pets; the ThermaClean dock rinses and dries the mop for ongoing sanitation.

The Max 775 Combo is positioned as a more affordable heated-scrub option at roughly $1,000, with a focus on heated mopping relative to competitors.

Picea’s electrolyzing capability underpins the sanitization feature, with 99.9% kill rate of germs using tap water, and Picea becomes part of iRobot post-acquisition.
