Starting Friday evening, November 7, at 22:00, the A7 in Hamburg will be completely closed from Hamburg-Stellingen to Hamburg-Heimfeld, including the Elbtunnel, and the closure will last until Monday, November 10, at 05:00.

A wide detour will redirect through-traffic via the A1, A21, and B205, as well as regional traffic in both directions.

Two major events Saturday—HSV versus Borussia Dortmund at the Volksparkstadion and a downtown demonstration drawing up to 20,000 people—could further impact traffic.

The road closure is part of mounting new traffic-sign structures and testing the integrated tunnel control center.

The project includes expanding the A7 to eight lanes and adding a two-kilometer noise-protection tunnel in Altona, with completion targeted for 2028.

An additional full closure of the Elbtunnel is planned from December 5 to December 8, 2025.

Through traffic for large bulky and heavy transports is not possible; such transports must detour well around the area.

On Friday night, access ramps at Stellingen, Volkspark, Bahrenfeld, Othmarschen, Waltershof, and Heimfeld will close progressively from 21:00.
