Goalkeeper Pedro Cruz distinguished himself by winning the MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month in April, with 25 appearances, 101 saves, and a 71.1% save percentage, also winning the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge.

Felipe Andrade, a Dynamo 2 graduate on loan from Brazilian club Fluminense, was extended to a first-team loan and then purchased, scoring five goals in 28 appearances, including his first in the U.S. Open Cup.

Houston Dynamo 2 finished the 2025 season in 11th place in the Western Conference of MLS NEXT Pro, ending a streak of three consecutive playoff appearances and marking their first miss since their inaugural season in 2022.

Key contributors included forward Stephen Annor with six goals, midfielders Sebastian Rodríguez and Lionel Gitau with four goals each, and Juan Viveros and Mattheo Dimareli leading in assists with three apiece.

Houston Dynamo 2's 2025 season was notable for its focus on youth development, featuring the youngest squad in MLS NEXT Pro with an average age of just 18.9 years, including 13 academy players and four scoring their first professional goals.

The season featured record-setting debuts from 14-year-olds Matthew Arana and Sebastiao Nzita, making them the youngest players to debut for Dynamo 2, and a remarkable season opener where three 15-year-olds started in a 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City II.

The team continued its commitment to nurturing young talent by signing three academy products—David Garcia, Noah Betancourt, and Enrique Correa—to MLS NEXT Pro contracts.
