ZoraSafe App Launches to Shield Seniors from Scams with AI, Gamified Learning, and Community Defense
October 12, 2025
Founded by sisters Catherine and Ellie Karow, ZoraSafe is designed to protect older adults from online scams and teach cybersecurity through engaging, gamified microlearning.
ZoraSafe, a new cybersecurity app launching in about a month, will include tools such as QR code scanning for malware, reporting suspicious messages, and sharing scam information to foster a community defense network.
The creators plan to expand ZoraSafe to children, partner with schools, and roll out the app in multiple languages, starting with Spanish, to broaden its reach.
Future updates will incorporate AI-driven detection of scam calls and deepfakes, with a privacy-focused approach that processes most data on-device, sharing only minimal sanitized information in the cloud.
To enhance user experience, the app will feature NFC stickers for quick access and options for sharing directly from iOS, addressing platform restrictions.
