The UAE Government, in partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF), is hosting the Annual Meetings of the Global Future Councils and Cybersecurity 2025 in Dubai until October 16, bringing together over 700 experts from 93 countries to foster international dialogue on future global challenges.

This event highlights a longstanding 16-year collaboration between the UAE and WEF, which has convened 900 councils and engaged thousands of officials worldwide to address critical future issues.

The agenda features Strategic Intelligence Activation sessions and panel discussions on topics like trade, technology, and digital health, reflecting the deep partnership and shared commitment to innovation.

The Councils are expanding their influence with new councils, members, and Output Labs focused on global economics, digital security, and climate insights, offering workshops to deepen understanding of these major challenges.

Initiatives such as Output Labs aim to foster multidisciplinary insights through collaborative workshops, emphasizing the importance of diverse perspectives in tackling complex issues.

Regional engagement is a key focus, with increased participation from Middle Eastern and North African leaders and entrepreneurs, alongside activities like workshops on regulatory innovation and multicultural robotics.

The event features 37 councils dedicated to six main areas—Technology, Economy, Society, Environment, Governance, and Health—aimed at promoting sustainable development and community well-being.

WEF President and CEO Børge Brende emphasized the importance of strengthening global cooperation to address interconnected political, economic, social, environmental, and technological challenges.

The summit underscores the vital role of international collaboration in shaping a future-oriented global thought process, with councils serving as platforms for sharing knowledge and developing actionable solutions.

UAE officials, including Minister Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, highlighted the country’s leadership in fostering global dialogue and accelerating progress on issues like AI, cybersecurity, geopolitical shifts, and evolving social structures.

This year marks the first time the Global Future Councils and Cybersecurity meetings are held concurrently, with cybersecurity being a major focus involving over 150 experts to promote a secure cyberspace.

Additional activities include workshops on regulatory innovation, multicultural robotics, and panels on digital health, food innovation, and trade technology, aiming to expand regional and global impact.

The collaboration between the UAE Government and WEF exemplifies a shared vision of fostering sustainable development and societal progress through international cooperation and innovative initiatives.
