Mariah Carey has achieved a significant milestone with her new single 'Type Dangerous,' marking her 50th entry on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

The song debuted at position #95 on the Hot 100 and serves as the first single from her upcoming 16th studio album.

Released on June 6, 2025, 'Type Dangerous' garnered impressive numbers, including 2.5 million official streams and 14.7 million in radio airplay audience in the week ending June 12.

Carey performed 'Type Dangerous' at the 2025 BET Awards on June 9, where she was honored with the Ultimate Icon Award.

If 'Type Dangerous' reaches #1, it will be her 20th chart-topping hit, tying her with The Beatles for the most number one hits on the Hot 100.

Co-written and co-produced by Carey, the track serves as a preview for her upcoming album, which will be her first since 'Caution' in 2018.

This marks Carey's first new entry on the Hot 100 since 'Oh Santa!' in 2020 and her first non-holiday song since 'Don't' featuring YG in 2017.

While Carey has participated in other top 10 hits, such as Drake's 'Emotionless' and Latto's 'Big Energy', these do not count toward her personal chart history.

In addition to its Hot 100 debut, 'Type Dangerous' also entered at No. 7 on Hot R&B Songs and No. 24 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

On the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, the song debuted at No. 7, marking the highest entrance for a song in nearly 30 years.

Carey has maintained a presence on the Hot 100 since 2019, largely due to the annual resurgence of her holiday classic 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.'

The official music video for 'Type Dangerous' premiered on June 14, 2025, further promoting the single.
