On August 12, 2025, NTT DATA partnered with The GEAR by Kajima to launch a smart building initiative in Singapore, aiming to leverage technology for KPI-driven insights and showcase how intelligent infrastructure can enhance innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.

This project is based at The GEAR building, which serves as Kajima's regional headquarters and R&D hub, utilizing over 8,700 data points from more than 2,000 sensors to optimize building operations, energy use, procurement, and service delivery.

By integrating over 10 technologies, the project transforms raw data into actionable insights aligned with business KPIs, fostering a responsive and efficient smart ecosystem.

Leaders from NTT DATA and Kajima emphasized that the initiative creates a scalable, flexible infrastructure focused on innovation, sustainability, and future-proofing.

Robust cybersecurity measures have been implemented across all systems to protect IoT devices and safeguard data flows within the smart building ecosystem.

Key features include centralized data management, automated workflows, remote monitoring, personalized controls, and energy management systems designed to enhance occupant productivity and sustainability.

The GEAR building has achieved BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification by optimizing energy consumption and lifecycle management through data-driven approaches.
