Starting September 1, MTV will temporarily resume airing music videos across its channels, including MTV2, MTV Live, MTV Classic, and Pluto TV's MTV Biggest Pop, leading up to the 2025 MTV VMAs.

Over 700 curated music videos will be broadcast 24/7 on these channels, featuring categories like 'Best of the 1980s,' 'Most Viral Videos,' 'Scandalous Content,' and more, though not on the flagship MTV channel.

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live on September 7 at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST on CBS, MTV, and Paramount+, with performances by artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Busta Rhymes, and Ricky Martin.

Special segments during the VMAs will include artist testimonials and dedications from celebrities like Olivia Rodrigo, Jon Bon Jovi, Doja Cat, and others, along with interstitials celebrating music video fandom.

The lineup of music videos highlights artists with the most airings, including Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Madonna, Eminem, Michael Jackson, and the Backstreet Boys, many of whom are MTV royalty and recipients of or nominees for the Video Vanguard Award.
