Fireflies.ai, already an AI meeting assistant used by over 20 million people and a majority of Fortune 500 companies, has expanded into email with a new Email Assistant that integrates with Gmail and Outlook.

The Email Assistant treats email like calls, sorting the inbox, assigning priority labels, and drafting replies directly into threads for review before sending.

Auto Labels automatically triages incoming emails without changing existing rules, while Auto Draft Replies writes in a configurable tone based on user instructions.

The Email Assistant is available on all plans, including the free tier; Fireflies’ Pro plan starts at Rs 955 per user per month when billed annually, and the company says it does not train its models on customer data.

A key differentiator is context from meetings, as the tool pulls information from email threads and past meetings to avoid memory-based reconstructions and improve response accuracy.

Email context feeds into the Daily Brief alongside meetings and Slack, with future enhancements planned for Meeting Prep, Tasks, and AI Skills to leverage email data.

Follow-up automation drafts follow-up emails when a thread goes quiet, based on user-configured timing, and AskFred handles plain-English requests like finding emails, summarizing threads, or extracting action items.
