The Ghana Tourism Authority and FESTAC Africa Secretariat officially launched the 2025 edition of FESTAC Africa on June 12, 2025, in Accra.

Scheduled to take place from September 21 to 27, 2025, the festival will embrace the theme 'Reimagining the African Renaissance,' focusing on health, culture, trade, climate change, gender equity, and tourism for sustainable economic growth.

The festival's timing is significant, as September 21 marks the birthday of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s founding father, while September 27 aligns with World Tourism Day.

Moreover, September is recognized as Tourism Month globally, coinciding with the United Nations' tourism week and the celebration of Nkrumah's legacy.

FESTAC Africa 2025 is positioned as a cultural revolution aimed at fostering Pan-Africanism, cultural reclamation, and economic transformation.

The event is anticipated to be a vital moment for a 'continental awakening,' promoting unity among African nations.

Organizers expect over 100,000 visitors, including a cross-border road carnival featuring over 1,000 participants from Nigeria, Benin, and Togo, supported by the African Union.

The festival aims to reconnect the African diaspora with their roots and celebrate Africa's contributions across various fields.

Attendees can look forward to a diverse range of activities, including cultural performances, conferences, exhibitions, movie screenings, sports events, health walks, a durbar of chiefs, and tree planting activities.

Events will be hosted at notable venues such as the Accra Sports Stadium, the National Theatre, and the Accra International Conference Centre.
