The Ruler of Abu Dhabi, HH Sheikh Mohamed, announced the creation of the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC) in the UAE.

The council will be responsible for developing AI and advanced technology strategies and policies in Abu Dhabi and aims to make the city a global hub for these technologies.

The AIATC will also focus on national cybersecurity, address AI threats, data privacy, algorithm biases, and promote transparency.

Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the chairman of the AIATC, and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the vice chairman.

This move aligns with the UAE's efforts to become a global tech hub and follows previous initiatives in blockchain and virtual assets.

The UAE's President announced the establishment of the council and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence was launched to deploy future technologies and improve government services.
