CoFRIDA builds on previous work with FRIDA and allows users to provide text inputs and take turns painting with the robot.

The system uses self-supervised training data from FRIDA's stroke simulator and planner to add brush strokes to existing content on the canvas.

CoFRIDA aims to enhance human creativity and offer new directions for artwork by integrating personalization features for user control over the finished style.

The researchers' paper on CoFRIDA won the Best Paper Award on Human Robot Interaction at the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Yokohama, Japan.
