Eviden, a subsidiary of the Atos Group, has signed a €50 million contract with Serbia's Office for IT and eGovernment to establish the National AI Factory, the first of its kind in the Balkan region.

The National AI Factory will feature an AI Center of Excellence and a supercomputing platform, aimed at enhancing AI deployment across healthcare, energy, transportation, and administration.

Central to this initiative is the BullSequana XH3000 supercomputer, which offers 25 PetaFlops of processing power and extensive storage capabilities, designed to support AI applications.

This initiative aims to foster AI innovation across key sectors such as health, energy, transportation, and administration.

The facility will be located in GIFT City and will serve as a Center of Excellence for AI, integrating supercomputing and AI application development.

This initiative aims to enhance Serbia's AI capabilities and promote innovation across various sectors while ensuring technological autonomy through European technologies.

Mihailo Jovanovic, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, emphasized that this partnership is a significant step towards Serbia's digital future and its vision for technological modernization by 2027.

The project will integrate Eviden's BullSequana AI platform with generative AI models from Mistral AI, facilitating the development of advanced AI applications.

Emmanuel Le Roux from Eviden highlighted Serbia's commitment to AI research, which reinforces strategic cooperation between France and Serbia in the field of AI.

The AI Factory will provide shared resources, including talent, expertise, software, and hardware, to democratize AI use and facilitate large-scale projects.

AI specialists from Eviden will collaborate with Serbian teams to ensure effective application of AI and support the recruitment and training of local engineers and academics.

Eviden will work with universities and research institutions in Serbia to train AI engineers and academic staff, fostering local talent for long-term sustainability.
