Google Cloud Boosts IndiaAI Mission with New Delhi Data Center and Advanced AI Solutions
May 10, 2025
With infrastructure in two data center zones, Mumbai and Delhi NCR, Google Cloud is committed to supporting the public sector with its comprehensive services.
Google Cloud is ramping up its collaboration with the Indian government to support the IndiaAI Mission, which aims to establish India as a leader in artificial intelligence.
Recognizing India as one of its fastest-growing markets, Google Cloud is seeing increasing adoption of its services among a diverse range of customers, including public sector units, private businesses, and startups.
Bikram Singh Bedi, Vice President and Country MD of Google Cloud India, stated that the company views India as a crucial market for growth and is intensifying its AI initiatives there.
Bedi emphasized that by owning all four layers of the AI stack—infrastructure, research and models, AI agents, and the Vertex AI training and deployment platform—Google Cloud can optimize its solutions for customers.
This comprehensive ownership allows Google Cloud to enhance the price performance of its AI solutions, making them more tailored to meet specific client needs.
Google Cloud plans to introduce all layers of its AI stack in India over time, with the Gemini 1.5 Flash model already operational in the country.
The company's offerings include advanced AI GPUs, TPUs, and multimodal models such as Gemini, Imagen, Chirp, and Lyria.
Google Cloud has also launched various AI agents capable of performing tasks autonomously and is developing agents that can integrate with third-party AI systems.
The new Delhi data center is strategically positioned to cater to public sector needs and is part of Google Cloud's broader engagement with government agencies, including hosting the iGOT Karmayogi platform.
The IndiaAI Mission focuses on leveraging AI to tackle challenges in sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and education, with Google Cloud aiming to contribute significantly to these efforts.
The establishment of a new data center in Delhi enables government departments to store data locally, which enhances service speed and ensures better compliance with data privacy regulations.
