This strategic push aims for AI to penetrate over 70% of energy applications by 2027, with a goal of reaching 90% by 2030, ultimately transforming the energy landscape into an 'intelligent' system by 2035.

Alongside energy advancements, China is prioritizing AI governance through smart city infrastructure, rural deployment, public safety, ecological monitoring, and establishing a multi-faceted security framework.

China has launched a 60-billion-yuan (about USD 8.4 billion) national AI industry investment fund, created over 240 standards for core AI technologies, and established international centers for AI development and cooperation.

The government is also advancing AI ethics, fostering international collaboration, and developing a unique national innovation model supported by new standards and institutions.

Recent data shows China's AI sector is rapidly expanding, with the number of AI firms surging from 1,400 to 5,000 over the past five years, contributing significantly to progress in electric vehicles and smart manufacturing.

This growth is reflected in over 40,000 smart factories and multiple national pilot zones for AI innovation, positioning China as a global leader in AI-driven industry transformation.

China aims for AI to be deeply integrated across all sectors, targeting 70% application penetration by 2027, over 90% by 2030, and establishing an 'intelligent economy and society' by 2035.

The State Council has issued a strategic guidance document emphasizing AI+ as a core focus, with long-term milestones to lead global standards, governance, and industry development by 2035.
