CM Unveils Plan to Revolutionize Education with AVGC-XR and Ethical AI at GAFX 2026 Summit
February 27, 2026
He emphasized that the AVGC-XR sector is a key driver of storytelling, culture, education, and governance in the digital era, not merely a niche industry.
The sector is framed as an economic and civilizational opportunity, enabling youth to turn creativity into livelihoods and letting rural talent produce global content from small towns, with calls for investment in original content and modernized curricula.
AI is viewed as a productivity tool that augments human creativity, not replaces it, with a focus on ethical AI use, IP protection, data privacy, and fair compensation for creators.
The CM urged that AI should enhance human imagination and storytelling, not replace it, stressing ethical use and the importance of human emotion in narratives.
Siddaramaiah highlighted integrating immersive technologies into tourism, education, and healthcare, including AR-driven tourism experiences and simulated medical training.
The CM outlined a plan to embed AVGC-XR into universities, engineering colleges, design institutes, and polytechnics to build a future-ready talent pipeline, while expanding production infrastructure, supporting startups and IP creation, and deepening global partnerships beyond Bengaluru.
Siddaramaiah opened the 7th Bengaluru GAFX, an event organized by the Department of Electronics, Information Technology and Biotechnology and the ABAI.
The three-day GAFX-2026 summit, themed Evolution Reloaded, focuses on AI’s impact on animation and VFX, including advanced AI-assisted workflows from storyboarding to real-time rendering.
Progress is framed as inclusive, democratizing opportunity while protecting creators and users and empowering them with new tools.
The CM said GAFX will transform storytelling, culture, education, and governance in the digital age, turning AVGC-XR from a niche field into a major economic force.
The state seeks to position itself as both Silicon Valley and Creative Capital of the digital world by weaving AVGC-XR into tourism, education, healthcare simulations, and digital preservation.
The government aims to mainstream AVGC-XR skills in education and reimagine tourism with AR, while using immersive tech for education, medical training, and preserving cultural heritage.
