The initiative positions AI as a decision-support tool within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, with future goals including predictive failure prevention and enhanced maintenance to boost safety, efficiency, and performance in motorsports.

An AI workflow, developed with Kumulus, analyzes crash photos of nearly 2,000 car components, generating a preliminary repair list that engineers validate and use to continually improve the model.

The system is built with Microsoft tools—Azure AI, Power BI, Fabric, Visual Studio Code, GitHub Copilot, and Azure AI Search—and keeps human analysts in final control over AI recommendations.

Real-time telemetry from onboard sensors is streamed into Microsoft Fabric every few seconds, enabling engineers to detect anomalies during races and intervene early to prevent issues from escalating.

Plans include a second AI agent to automate garage scheduling and parts ordering, with a third to integrate crash analysis with real-time telemetry for richer context on speed and force during collisions.
