India Launches AI Chatbot 'Samadhan Didi' for Multilingual Public Grievance Redressal
May 30, 2026
India unveiled Samadhan Didi, an AI-enabled chatbot that lets citizens file grievances online in their own language by integrating multilingual Bhashini with CPGRAMS for streamlined redressal.
The platform runs on secure government infrastructure to protect data privacy, with live demonstrations proving its multilingual capability across various languages.
Developed by the DARPG in partnership with Bhashini, the chatbot routes grievances to the appropriate ministry or department while supporting multilingual input and maintaining privacy.
The rollout aims to reach all regions, including remote and underserved areas, under a Whole of the Nation approach and to encourage adoption by states and public institutions.
Officials describe the initiative as the ‘Democratization of the Public Grievance Mechanism,’ aimed at easier use, greater accessibility, and faster, more efficient redressal.
Reported grievance resolution rates exceed 95%, signaling increased public confidence in CPGRAMS and the new chatbot.
The program positions CPGRAMS as a global model for citizen-centric, technology-enabled governance that boosts transparency, accountability, and trust.
Efforts continue to add more languages to reduce linguistic barriers and broaden accessibility.
AI is expected to speed grievance routing, improve categorization and resolution efficiency, and foster more inclusive participation in public administration.
Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh called the tool a milestone for more accessible, responsive, and efficient public grievance redressal, emphasizing AI-driven governance and citizen engagement.
The launch in New Delhi underscored the move toward citizen-centric, transparent governance and highlighted its democratizing potential for public grievances.
Singh announced the system as a step toward democratizing access to grievances and improving ease of use.
