A new AI-powered robotic surveillance platform named DSC ARJUN has been launched to enhance security, passenger safety, and support for RPF personnel on the East Coast Railway.

Initial deployment is planned at Puri with potential relocation to Bhubaneswar, targeting platforms, concourses, booking offices, waiting halls, circulating areas, parking zones, parcel offices, and other vulnerable spots.

Officials say continuous monitoring and analytics will aid crime prevention, crowd management, asset protection, and emergency response during large-scale events like Bahuda Yatra.

Rovvor founder explains the robot’s capabilities, including a battery life of five to six hours, a travel range of five to six kilometers, and seven cameras.

The robot’s vision system includes two head cameras, shoulder cameras, PTZ cameras on the rover, and a front navigation camera, complemented by obstacle and edge detection sensors.

The robot was developed at a cost of around Rs 40 lakh and is equipped with seven 360-degree cameras and an advanced intelligent monitoring system.
