AI Materials Foundry Launched: LG CNS Joins Forces with Nvidia, Meta, and CuspAI to Revolutionize Materials Discovery
July 27, 2026
A new AI-driven materials alliance, AI Materials Foundry, has been launched with LG CNS joining alongside global leaders such as Nvidia and Meta, under the leadership of UK startup CuspAI.
The consortium aims to accelerate materials discovery by integrating high-quality experimental data, research networks, and computing resources into CuspAI’s agentic AI platform, reducing time and cost.
The AI Materials Foundry brings together AI, data, computing power, and scientific expertise, encompassing 48 members including Nvidia, Meta, AMD, 3M, Merck, and top research institutions.
PerfectWin ERP Edition leverages agentic AI to autonomously plan, execute, and document multistep ERP tests by analyzing workflows and real-time data, detecting irregularities, diagnosing root causes, and producing documentation without human input.
Customer data will be stored on dedicated/isolated servers and will not be used to train AI models, with new material-related IP remaining with the clients.
Kemira, a Finnish chemicals company, reportedly shortened a materials development timeline from years to six months using the platform, identifying around 20 promising candidates for further testing.
LG CNS also announced PerfectWin ERP Edition to automate testing for SAP ERP transitions to platforms like S/4HANA and ongoing ERP deployments.
CuspAI isolates client data on independent servers to ensure security and IP protection, granting ownership of new material patents to commissioning companies.
CuspAI, headquartered in London, has raised about $450 million in funding, valuing the company at roughly 4 trillion won, and focuses on AI-driven design and exploration of novel materials.
LG CNS will deploy CuspAI’s platform to help Korean manufacturers in sectors like semiconductors, chemicals, and energy develop materials with targeted properties while shortening development time.
Eddie Jang of LG CNS emphasizes that faster, cheaper materials development strengthens competitiveness and positions LG CNS as a gateway to a world-class AI-driven materials ecosystem.
LG CNS will serve as a platform delivery partner within the alliance, handling material data processing, platform construction, operation, and interpretation to enable domestic firms to conduct new material research without in-house AI infrastructure.
