A consortium led by SAIGONTEL, World Harmony Co. (WVU), and SAIF Eagle II has submitted a letter of intent to Tay Ninh’s People’s Committee to study and develop a US$3.5 billion AI-focused data centre complex at Nam Tan Tap Industrial Park, aiming to anchor a broader ecosystem.

The Nam Tan Tap data centre is envisioned as an anchor within an integrated industrial–energy–digital ecosystem designed to attract technology firms and foreign investment to Tay Ninh and bolster Vietnam’s southern economic development.

If realized, the project could boost Tay Ninh’s digital infrastructure, accelerate AI and high-tech activity in the southern key economic region, and draw significant foreign direct investment and technology company presence.

Separately, Hanoi approved a 24-month autonomous vehicle trial at Hoa Lac to test safety, reliability, and readiness for autonomous public transport and to inform standards and procedures.

The Tay Ninh project’s development cycle hinges on regulatory steps, power supply arrangements, and policy approvals, underscoring the critical need for reliable electricity for large-scale AI computing facilities.

Vietnam is strengthening cybersecurity rules for domestic and foreign businesses, including a decree with measures for information security, training, and IP address management.
