Europe is moving forward with LUMI-AI, an AI supercomputer contract worth 387.8 million euros, to be deployed at CSC’s Kajaani data center in Finland and funded by EuroHPC JU and the LUMI AI Factory consortium.

The system will use AMD Instinct MI430X GPUs and 6th Gen AMD EPYC processors, targeting roughly ten times the AI capacity and almost doubling the HPC capability of the current LUMI setup.

LUMI-AI is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring heat reuse and renewable energy to position it among the world’s most energy-efficient large-scale AI infrastructures.
