A Dammam-based firm, Al-Yamama Company for Trading & Contracting, has won the contract to develop the infrastructure for a planned 6GW hyperscale AI data centre campus in Riyadh.

Humain has designated Al-Yamama as the infrastructure contractor on the Humain Riyadh AI data center campus, located in Al-Saad, east Riyadh, on a 24-square-kilometre site.

The tender was issued in May, but the final contractor team and the overall project budget have not yet been announced.

Early contractor involvement is central to progress, with Hatch, Egis, and JLL supporting the client during the initial phase.

In October 2025, a non-binding term sheet indicated Aramco might acquire a minority stake in Humain, while the Public Investment Fund would maintain majority ownership.

The infrastructure scope includes electrical distribution with substations and a large bulk supply point, water networks, wastewater and stormwater systems, fire protection, roads, fibre optics, and landscaping across two development phases on six plots.

Execution is planned in two stages across six plots, featuring extensive utilities, wastewater treatment, stormwater drainage, and fire protection.

Electrical work covers 380kV/132kV/33kV networks, two substations (500 MVA and 200 MVA), a 2,000 MVA bulk supply point, plus water, wastewater, stormwater, roads, underground cables, fibre optics, and landscaping.

Humain, the Saudi AI company owned by the Public Investment Fund, is leading the project with support from Canadian Hatch, France’s Egis, and US-based JLL.

In May 2025, Humain signed preliminary deals with AMD and Nvidia to develop multibillion-dollar digital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including up to $10 billion from AMD for 500MW of AI compute capacity over five years.

The project will be delivered on an early contractor involvement basis, requiring shortlisted teams to submit methodologies and design proposals before a single construction team is selected.

The 24-square-kilometre site in Al-Saad, east Riyadh, will be developed in two phases across six plots, each with about 1GW of capacity.
