EnsoSleep Becomes First AI Software Certified by AASM for Full Autoscoring
October 27, 2026
EnsoData's EnsoSleep has achieved full autoscoring certification from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), making it the first AI autoscoring software to do so.
The certification is designed to help clinicians weave AI into clinical workflows, enabling technologists and physicians to verify and edit automated results while preserving professional oversight.
Independent validation evaluated EnsoSleep across more than 140 real-world polysomnography studies to establish a clinical benchmark.
AASM certification provides third-party validation grounded in real-world clinical data, complementing FDA clearance, which assesses substantial equivalence of a device.
EnsoSleep analyzes physiological signals from both in-lab and home sleep studies to automate scoring for clinician review, reducing manual workload without sacrificing expert oversight.
Sam Rusk, co-founder and chief AI officer of EnsoData, notes that third-party validation from a medical society increases trust among sleep centers and clinicians.
The certification covers all four autoscoring domains: sleep staging, arousals, respiratory events, and periodic limb movements.
