Meta employees are currently working weekends to ensure the timely shipment of the Hypernova smart glasses, which are set for release in October 2025.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, shipping Hypernova is Meta's highest hardware priority, although there is a slight risk of delay.

To mitigate any potential delays, Meta management has instructed staff to accelerate their work efforts, including taking on weekend shifts.

The company is expected to announce the Hypernova glasses at Meta Connect 2025, scheduled for September 17, where preorders may also open.

The Hypernova glasses are anticipated to be priced between $1,000 and $1,400 and will feature a neural wristband for finger gesture controls.

In the competitive landscape, Apple is developing its own smart glasses, codenamed N50, which may launch around 2027 and will focus on visual multimodal AI, similar to Meta's approach with Hypernova.
