Meta AI Unveils Calendar Integration for Ray-Ban and Oakley Smart Glasses, Boosting Productivity
August 29, 2025
A recent firmware update improves media capture speed, extends Audible command functionality to all English-speaking countries, and adds location awareness to reminders for more contextual assistance.
Meta AI has introduced calendar integration for Ray-Ban and Oakley smart glasses, enabling users to access, search, summarize, and create events in Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar through the glasses' AI assistant.
These smart glasses can also set up and read out calendar alerts for upcoming events, significantly enhancing daily productivity.
Users can ask about event times, details, and locations; summarize schedules for specific days or weekends; and create new events using natural language commands.
To activate this feature, users need to link their calendars via the Meta AI app’s settings under the App Connections section once the rollout is complete.
Meta assures that linked calendar data will not be used to train AI models, but voice requests with Voice Storage enabled may be reviewed by contractors.
This calendar integration follows Meta's addition of a Calendar app to Quest's Horizon OS, indicating a broader strategy to embed Meta devices into users’ daily digital routines.
Meta plans further announcements at Connect 2025, including the potential launch of its first smart glasses with a display, codenamed Hypernova, which may feature a sEMG wristband.
