A 39-year-old woman was attacked in a domestic violence incident outside Crunch Fitness Alexandria in Sydney.

The assailant, identified as the victim's former partner, inflicted stabbings to her neck, ear, and back before escaping.

The woman is currently hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

Authorities are familiar with the suspect due to prior domestic violence offences, and he is considered armed and dangerous.
