These players are advocating for the formation of a refugee team to represent Afghan women who cannot play cricket in their homeland.

They have reached out to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for support to showcase their talent and provide hope to aspiring female cricketers in Afghanistan.

Cricket Australia, which has previously supported Afghan women players, is awaiting the ICC's response to determine how they can assist.

The women cricketers first approached the ICC in 2023 and have been persistent in their efforts.

They aim to address the gender disparity in Afghan cricket and achieve similar success to the Afghanistan men's team.

CEO Nick Hockley emphasizes the importance of resuming Afghanistan's women's cricket program and ensuring equal opportunities for male and female cricketers.
