A tropical cyclone named Alfred is forecasted to intensify to a category three system on February 26, 2025, as it approaches Queensland.

Meteorologist Dean Narramore predicts that the cyclone's organization and environmental conditions will facilitate further strengthening into the night and Thursday.

Despite its intensification, Alfred is expected to remain several hundred kilometers offshore while moving slowly southeast.
