Toyota Australia Recalls 70,000 Cars for Instrument Cluster Fault
July 18, 2025
Toyota Australia has issued a recall for nearly 70,000 vehicles, including popular models like the RAV4 Hybrid and Corolla, due to a fault in the digital instrument cluster.
The issue stems from improper programming of the combination meter, which can cause the instrument display to be blank upon ignition, increasing the risk of accidents.
Toyota will contact all owners of the affected vehicles and offer a free software update, which may take between one to 2.5 hours depending on the model, to fix the problem.
The recall covers a total of 69,586 vehicles produced between July 2022 and April 2025, where critical information like the speedometer may not display properly.
Although the vehicles are considered safe to drive, Toyota advises owners to contact their local dealer or the Toyota Recall Campaign Helpline for assistance.
The affected models include the CH-R Hybrid, Camry Hybrid, various Corolla models, GR Yaris, Kluger, and RAV4.
