Aurum's BDT2 Project Poised for Major Gold Resource Upgrade by Early 2026
November 7, 2025
Aurum’s BDT2 project holds combined resources of about 21.4 million tonnes at 0.7 g/t gold, totaling roughly 482,000 ounces, with two smaller inferred zones about 500 meters north of the main deposit and a potential resource upgrade anticipated in early Q1 2026 as additional results come in.
BDT2 sits at the northern end of a 13 km by 3 km underexplored corridor within Aurum’s southwestern BD licence, characterized by free-milling gold hosted in a thick sandstone unit.
Exploration updates indicate new gold intercepts outside the current BDT2 envelope in the BD T2 target area, suggesting potential for a resource upgrade.
Six diamond core holes totaling about 1,487 meters were drilled on the BD tenement, with Aurum holding 80% equity, as part of infill and extensional work to expand resources and lift confidence at BDT2.
Mineralisation is associated with fine disseminated pyrite and an alteration assembly including hematite, silica, chlorite, tourmaline, quartz veining, albite, and carbonate, with true widths estimated at 65–80% of downhole lengths.
Aurum plans a major update across the Boundiali and Niapié projects by early Q1 2026, aiming to grow resource size and confidence, followed by a pre-feasibility study for Boundiali.
Drilling capacity has been expanded to 12 rigs from 10, with over 130,000 meters targeted in 2025 across Boundiali and Niapié, supported by about $45 million in cash to fund exploration and development.
In Niapié, a 30,000-meter program will continue to expand the 0.87 Moz resource, with a mineral resource update planned for early Q1 2026 while maintaining a cash reserve of roughly $45 million.
Recent drill results include notable intercepts such as 28 meters at 1.54 g/t gold from 82 meters, including 4 meters at 7.51 g/t and 17 meters at 0.99 g/t from 55 meters, and a third hole with 9 meters at 1.38 g/t from 78 meters (including 3 meters at 3.23 g/t).
Ongoing 100,000-meter diamond drilling at Boundiali has yielded high-grade intercepts, for example 5 meters at 11.07 g/t gold from 200 meters in DSDD0267, extending beyond the current BDT2 resource envelope.
New drill hits lie outside the current Mineral Resource for BDT2, echoing earlier high-grade pockets such as 74 meters at 1 g/t from 167 meters (with 1 meter at 24.73 g/t) and supporting potential for an upgrade in the upcoming major update.
Overall, the latest outside-envelope results are expected to drive a BDT2 resource upgrade in the major update targeted for early 2026.
