Jai Arrow, diagnosed with motor neurone disease, is set to return to the field for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in rounds 26 and 27 to reach 100 first-grade games for the club, after approval from the NRL and RLPA to play two additional matches.

The NRL approved South Sydney’s proposal to name an extra player and extend interchanges in rounds 26 and 27, enabling Arrow to reach 180 career games and 100 with the Rabbitohs.

Arrow has been granted permission to play two more NRL matches, with reflections on his journey and gratitude for a strong support network and team culture.

Rabbitohs and league officials frame Arrow’s milestone as a tribute to courage and an inspiration in the fight against MND.

The event has drawn widespread support from players across clubs, including arrow-themed celebrations as part of PR and fundraising efforts.

There is a possibility of Latrell Mitchell returning from injury for South Sydney around Arrow’s tribute schedule, and Arrow was emotionally consoled by his partner Berina and daughter Ayla.

Separately, Hayze Perham extended his Broncos contract through 2027, remaining Reece Walsh’s backup fullback.

The two designated matches are against Gold Coast Titans and the Sydney Roosters, designed to honor Arrow, raise awareness, and fundraise for MND.

The initiative aims to raise awareness and funds for Arrow’s fight with MND while celebrating his contributions to the club and sport.
