A major drug smuggling operation spanning Belgium, the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands has been uncovered, involving the transportation of various illicit substances across Europe.

The gang was involved in distributing a wide range of drugs including cocaine, ketamine, heroin, crystal meth, and MDMA throughout Europe.

On September 7, 2024, Belgian police arrested four men near Waasmunster, where they found 225kg of ketamine and over 200 liters of drug precursors while intercepting materials being transferred to a Lithuanian truck.

Following the arrests, authorities conducted 11 house searches across Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK, leading to the detention of seven suspects, with five held by a judge in Dendermonde.

The operation resulted in significant drug seizures, including 225kg of ketamine, 150kg of amphetamines, 100kg of hashish, 30kg of heroin, and over 200 liters of precursors in Belgium, as well as 31kg of cocaine and 100kg of marijuana in the Netherlands.

During the investigation, authorities recovered more than €5 million in cash, highlighting the scale of the illicit trade.
