CCL has woven FOFA into its organizational activities, including a Conservative Climate Conference, Fall Conference training, Fall Lobby Week, and a nationwide endorsement-letter campaign coordinated across states.

Volunteers carried localized outreach, op-eds, letters to the editor, and personalized endorsement letters to senators, supported by staff to maximize impact on Capitol Hill.

A pivotal moment came on October 21, when the Senate Agriculture Committee voted 18–5 in favor of FOFA, signaling bipartisan momentum toward a floor vote.

The coalition building behind FOFA includes partnerships with American Forests, The Nature Conservancy, Environmental Defense Fund, National Audubon Society, and other groups to support the effort.

CCL volunteers launched a broad advocacy push, sending about 7,100 messages to Congress early in the year and making more than 2,000 calls to senators during the Senate Agriculture Committee phase.

The Fix Our Forests Act gained momentum in 2025, with initial House passage of H.R. 471 by a bipartisan vote and its introduction in the Senate as S. 1462.

FOFA is waiting for a full Senate floor vote, with ongoing volunteer outreach urging senators to endorse the legislation and consideration of whether FOFA will stand alone or be folded into a broader package.

The Act aims to reduce wildfire risk and strengthen forest health through tools like prescribed fire and reforestation, protecting communities, sustaining rural livelihoods, and boosting forests’ role in climate solutions.
