CS2 Update: Dynamic Crosshairs, New Game Modes, and Exciting Features Unveiled
September 23, 2026
Players can customize music volume per game mode and apply stickers to the C4; Steam Community group members gain a Clan Tag option from their profile.
In Rush, a queued 3v3 mode, arena maps are selected randomly for each match, with victory conditions based on tower control and elimination or time expiry.
Valve’s official notes detailing these changes are available in the Steam Community announcement linked in the article.
CS2’s September update adds a new twist to Premier: the final map is now randomly chosen from a pool selected by both teams.
Silent reloads are slower when activated by holding the reload key, and sniper scope sounds no longer play when scoping.
Five new Workshop entities arrive: minimap_volume, sky_camera_volume, sky_camera_volume_target, point_deathcam_bounds, and env_shake_volume.
Crosshairs are now independent of resolution, and a new Crosshair/Scopes tab in Settings adds updated crosshair options, with Dynamic Quad as the default.
