Additionally, the Stacks Foundation will introduce the Bitcoin Policy Bridge in May, which will connect regulators from key jurisdictions across the Middle East and Asia to enhance cooperation and understanding.
The foundation plans to strengthen its presence in Hong Kong and the UAE by collaborating with local partners to launch educational programs for Bitcoin developers and users.
Stacks Asia has formed a partnership with Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) to drive Bitcoin adoption across the Middle East and Asia, becoming the first Bitcoin-focused organization to establish a presence in the region.
Announced on April 28, 2025, this partnership aims to enhance Bitcoin's programmability and encourage institutional participation in the Bitcoin economy through educational initiatives and developer support.
The foundation aims to expand the Bitcoin network while preserving its core functionalities, leveraging ADGM's supportive environment for token voting and smart contracts.
Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, CEO of ADGM Registration Authority, noted that this foundation's registration highlights the UAE's growing influence in the digital asset sector and promotes the development of Bitcoin Layer-2 solutions.
Kyle Ellicott, Executive Director of Stacks Asia, emphasized that this collaboration could reshape financial landscapes, leveraging ADGM's reputation as a premier financial hub.
Starting in May 2025, Stacks Asia will host a series of live and virtual events aimed at educating institutions on integrating Bitcoin into their operations, focusing on the opportunities presented by productive Bitcoin capital.
Stacks Asia is advocating for global regulatory frameworks that support decentralization and innovation within the Bitcoin ecosystem, introducing the Bitcoin Capital Activation Framework to help governments harness Bitcoin's economic potential.
As part of this initiative, Stacks and ADGM will launch educational programs and build regional developer communities to promote Bitcoin-powered applications and facilitate real-world integration.
ADGM has previously registered several Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Foundations under its 2023 DLT Foundations Regulations framework, which is recognized as the first legal framework for blockchain globally.
