Solana Mobile has officially announced the launch of its Seeker smartphone, which will feature a new token called SKR to enhance its ecosystem.

Set to ship on August 4, 2025, the Seeker is positioned as the successor to the Saga smartphone that debuted in 2023.

At the core of the Seeker's technical architecture is TEEPIN (Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network), which provides a secure, three-layer structure for mobile operations.

This architecture includes a hardware layer that ensures device integrity through cryptographic attestation and a platform layer that facilitates on-chain verification for app distribution.

The Seeker has already generated significant interest, with over 150,000 units produced and pre-sold ahead of its official launch.

Pricing for the Seeker was structured in two phases: $450 during the Founder window and $500 for Early Adopters, potentially generating at least $67.5 million in revenue.

The Seeker will utilize a new trustless architecture, allowing for direct updates to users without the delays typically associated with app stores.

Anatoly Yakovenko, CEO of Solana Labs, expressed his ambition to create a competitive mobile ecosystem that rivals giants like Google and Apple, despite acknowledging the risks involved.

To foster a self-sustaining market, hardware suppliers will receive incentives for integrating Solana's firmware into their devices.

Users will be able to earn SKR tokens by engaging with applications and can securely manage their tokens and assets using Solana's Seed Vault key-management system.

While the original Saga device faced mixed reviews, it gained traction towards the end of 2023, driven by demand from crypto users, ultimately leading to sell-outs.

Yakovenko emphasized that TEEPIN signifies a new era in mobile technology, focusing on cryptographic verification and promoting a decentralized future.
