The event is expected to attract between 1,000 and 1,200 participants from Finland and nearby countries, especially Germany, reflecting regional interest.

Despite Finland’s reputation for technological prowess, Bitcoin adoption has been slow due to high trust in traditional institutions, but the event aims to tap into the region’s untapped potential for Bitcoin growth.

BTCHel is designed to be inclusive, welcoming both seasoned Bitcoiners and newcomers, with the goal of increasing interest and participation in the local Bitcoin community.

The event will be community-driven and grassroots, with plans to hold it annually, focusing on engagement rather than profit, and expanding its reach over time.

Organized by Remu Karhulahti, who has extensive experience in European Bitcoin events, BTCHel aims to serve a distinct local audience in Finland and the broader Nordic region, differentiating itself from larger European conferences.
